The Dog Is Crying - Is It Possible

By Jerry Welsh

Skeptics would always be ready to assert that dogs don't cry. Dogs being animals have no emotions thus they are not capable of crying and shedding tears. Dogs are indeed man's best friends and one pet would not be enough for a dog lover. Although owners form a strong bond with the pet it is common to get another dog if the pet is gone. Dogs are the most loved and pampered pets. Pet owner have all the opportunities to see if the pet is crying because of the attention showered on the pet. Although it would really be quite difficult to see the tears flowing on the dog's eyes as the tears would normally be absorbed by the fur.

Dogs have tear glands thus it would be natural for these animals to shed tear. Dogs with light colored coats would have tear stains on the face, a sign that the dog really does shed tears. The tears produced by the tear glands have the purpose of lubricating the eyes and flushing out dirt that managed to enter the eyes

The dog's eyes can be seen brimming with tears. Another sigh that the dog can cry are the tear stains on the face. These signs of crying are explained by scientists as a result of a foreign object on the eyes or as a symptom of an eye problem. Excessive tearing can be caused by a clogged tear duct. Dogs don't have emotions thus they cannot shed emotional tears.

Dog lovers would not agree to the views of scientists. Dog wise people believe that dogs now have many people-like qualities. Dogs are said to have developed many human-like behaviors after long years of association with humans.

Generally, pet dogs form a strong bond with the human family. Stories have been told about dogs that have deeply mourned the passing away of the master. There are many stories that tell how the dog would howl, whine and cry when parted from its beloved master. The pitiful sounds a lamenting dog makes would be heartrending to the other members of the family.

Whether the dog has the ability to feel emotions and to cry when they are sad, or whether dogs can't shed emotional tears, it would still be the responsibility of the dog owner to see what is wrong with the pet. The crying of the dog may not be a sign of loneliness but a symptom that all is not well with its health.
